Our Roots: The First Generation
In 1974, Nilaveli Beach Hotel opened its doors, marking the start of premium tourism on the east coast of Sri Lanka. It was in this historic year that our father, Arulanantham (Sivam), began his career as a local boatman for the hotel.
For over 23 years, he guided early global travelers across these seas, mapping out the local waters, learning safe routes, and establishing a standard of hospitality and care that would define our family name.
This image, captured in 1974, shows him navigating with some of the hotel's very first foreign customers. This passion and deep respect for the ocean is what we inherit and carry forward in every single trip we run today.

Second Generation
Following in his father Arulanantham (Sivam)'s footsteps, the current owner Srikanth began working as a boatman at Nilaveli Beach Hotel, learning the craft of ocean navigation.

Independence
Left hotel employment to launch an independent boat service. Started Pigeon Island fishing operations, running the business until 2006.

Started at Nilaveli Beach Hotel in 1997, following his father Arulanantham (Sivam)'s maritime legacy from 1974. Launched his own independent boat service in 2002 and has been guiding tourists through Sri Lanka's eastern seas ever since. Over 25 years of personal experience on these waters.
